Reading City Information: Reading is a large town in Berkshire, South East England. For ceremonial purpose it is in the county of Berkshire. It lies at the confluence of the River Thames and River Kennet. Today Reading is an important commercial centre with strong links to information technology and insurance and it is also called as university town with two universities and a large student population. The town has been famous for the "Three Bs" of beer, bulbs and biscuits and also made 'Reading Sauce', described as a sharp sauce flavored with onions, spices, and herbs, very like Worcestershire Sauce. Reading has a number of arts centers, including concert halls, fine art galleries and general use spaces, with a vibrant arts scene. Every year Reading hosts the Reading Festival, which has been running since 1971. |
