Area Information : The hotel’s convenient location and great access to the region’s major road network make it a great base from which to explore the Thames Valley area. Reading town centre and the Oracle shopping centre are just a short distance away, as is Theale. Other local attractions include Legoland Windsor, Beale Wildlife Park and Gardens, Windsor Castle and Windsor Great Park. The town of Henley and Marlow are also nearby, as is the village of Silchester, best known for the adjacent archaeological site and the Roman town of Calleva Atrebatum, which was first occupied by the Romans in about AD 45 and which includes what is thought to be the best-preserved Roman wall in Great Britain.
Sporting venues in the region include Windsor Racecourse, Newbury Racecourse, the Madjeski Stadium, home of Reading Football Club, and Smallmead Stadium, which hosts the greyhound racing track Reading Greyhound Racing, as well as being the home of the Reading Racers speedway team.
